Med-Scribe is currently recruiting for exceptional Registered Nurses to work on a remote project with a company based in the Rochester, NY area. This is a great opportunity to gain medical record review experience while adding to your professional portfolio! Temp indefinite. Possible hire, not guaranteed.
In this role, you will be responsible for independently reviewing the medical records for Durable Medical Equipment cases and applying Medicare coverage policies to make a coverage determination. You will be making medical necessity determinations relating to whether an item is reasonable and necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of an illness or injury. The reviewer will then document the decision to be included in a final decision letter. Many of our nurses find case review to be an intellectually rewarding position and welcome an added dimension to their clinical activities.
This is a deadline driven environment. You will be logged onto the computer, working for a full 8 hour day, with set hours. Strong writing and computer skills are required.
Days and hours: Monday through Friday: 40 hours a week, day hours.
Salary: $27/hour, benefits available!
Minimum Qualifications: You must have a valid NYS Nursing license and a minimum typing speed of 35wpm is also required. Associates degree in Nursing, required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to quickly learn multiple database systems and comfortably manage multiple screens at the same time and proficiency with MS Word. Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. Ability to independently manage workflow. 2 years of related experience required.
Technical Requirements: Broadband/Cable internet is required with 80 megabits Download/3-5 megabits Upload capability with direct connection to a modem where equipment and Project information can be secured behind a closing door.
