Coordinates the occupational therapy plan with interdisciplinary team plan. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide physician ordered occupational therapy services. Assure orders are renewed, per schedule, or as patient's response to current orders change. Completes all documentation (initial assessment, visit notes, renewal orders, verbal orders, and discharge summaries). ID patient short/long term goals in terms of functional outcomes. Reflect progress or lack of goal achievement in all charting. Confer w/physician and/or interdisciplinary team regarding patient response. Utilize task-oriented activities as focus of treatment to increase the functional level of self-care, homemaking, daily living activities, and community re-entry skills. Evaluate the home environment for accessibility and safety; and recommend modifications. Provide cognitive, psychosocial/emotional evaluation and assess impact on level of independence. Enhance perceptual motor function by using activities that stimulate visual and kinesthetic channels to increase awareness of the body and its movement. Develop sensory treatment modalities to enhance performance of perceiving and differentiating external and internal stimuli such as tactile awareness, kinesthesia, propreoceptive awareness, olfactory awareness, etc. Ability to provide splinting orthotics, slings, maintain joint alignment, protect joint integrity, improve function and/or decrease deformity. Teach muscle re-education in upper extremity/hand therapies. Ability to teach caregivers and family treatment modalities as well as clearly communicate interdisciplinary team philosophy, goals and outcomes. Attend scheduled interdisciplinary staff meetings and actively participate in treatment planning. Participate in committees and program development as indicated. Performs other duties and instructions the supervisor may request. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a university accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the AMA and the AOTA and current NYS OT licensure required. Minimum of 2 years' experience in an acute care facility and/or an acute/intermediate rehabilitation facility. Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation required. Pre-employment physical and an annual health assessment as required by the NYS Dept. of Health. Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and concisely through written and verbal communication.

RN- Occupational Health, Buffalo & Rochester
RN, Occupational Health Nursing background needed for a temp to perm position traveling between Rochester and Buffalo. Qualifications needed: New York State Licensed Registered Nurse accompanied by credentials equivalent to a Bachelors degree in nursing or health related field. Designation of Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) highly desirable. Designation of Certified Case Manager (CCM) highly desirable. Minimum of two to five years in occupational health including assignments in workers’ compensation/disability case management essential. Ergonomic training and experience essential. Should be capable of establishing constructive relationships with all levels of staff and management. Medical Assistant- Full time
Busy medical office is looking for a Medical Assistant to perform primarily clinical functions. Temp to hire. Monday to Friday, 32-40 hours a week 8:30am-5:00pm, with occasional Sat.am. This candidate must be willing to cross train to work both in the front and back office. Formally trained MA (not necessarily certified) preferred. One year experience required. Unusual FT/PT weekday position for licensed PT with LTC, acute or home care exp., preferring knowledge of the Medicare coverage criteria. In this role you will review medical records and write letters concerning the approval or denial of medical benefits. Strong documentation skills required. Knowledge of computers needed. Some flexibility with the hours. You will not have any patient contact, you will work in an office at a computer, typing letters and reviewing medical records. This is an indefinite temporary position at $30/hr.
